Managing Through Change

Managing Through Change – Developing a Mindset for Success

SHOT (Short Hit of Training) Duration

2 hours

Expected Outcomes

At the end of the session delegates will:

  • Understand the direct link between having / developing a ‘Growth Mindset’ and the capacity to deal with change (Direct link with engagement and motivation

  • Determine if they have a ‘Growth Mindset’ or a ‘Fixed Mindset’ and what to do to enhance or change (Practical Strategies and Tools)

  • Create a check list of actions they can use after the workshop

The session will engage all delegates in discussion and activities which focus on enhancing understanding of the practical application of the concepts in relation to the environment at the ATO.

Being able to manage during change is a lifelong skill and by exploring different topics, delegates come to realise that there is more than one solution to change and stressful situations. If they have tried something in the past which didn’t work, they can see that there are many more methods they can use.

Emotion-Focused Coping: Methods of handling stressful situations that entail learning how to deal with the situation emotionally

Empty Coping Strategies/Hang-Ups: Entails “empty” coping strategies that generally will not be helpful in dealing with stressful situations

All delegates can be given a copy of the book Mindset – The New Psychology of Change. See investment options.
